Delta Sigma Pi, Concordia’s professional business fraternity, will be tabling on campus the week of January 23rd to provide business and economics students with information on how to join the business fraternity.
Christiana Patton, vice president of Delta Sigma Pi, said, “The goal of the Rho Phi Chapter during recruitment week is to create a wider campus presence across Concordia and have students, specifically business and economics students, gain a better understanding of what Delta Sigma Pi is all about.”
Claire Oppedahl, pledge educator for Delta Sigma Pi, added, “Recruitment week is awesome because it gives you an overview of what DSP is all about, from the format of our general business meetings to some of the events we do. It also gives you a chance to meet current brothers!”
Business and economics students are highly encouraged to join the fraternity. Patton wanted said, “joining this international fraternity means that you will be joining a long line of very talented and successful men and women. Delta Sigma Pi is the place to start as a business or economics student. The skills and connections you gain through Delta Sigma Pi are endless and worthwhile.”
There are numerous benefits to being a part of the business fraternity. Oppedahl said, “Some of the main benefits of joining DSP are the community, networking and knowledge you gain for the business world. It is fun to meet and get to know other business majors.”
“My favorite part of being a member of DSP is the community. I love how I can always reach out to my fellow brothers and get help if I need it. We are supportive and encouraging of each other, which is nice,” Oppedahl continued.
If you are interested in being a part of Delta Sigma Pi, Patton said, “Spring recruitment will begin on January 30 and go until February 8.”
“If you are a Business or Economics major, don't miss out on this great opportunity to further your network and professional business skills,” Oppedahl encouraged, “I will be your pledge educator for spring 23, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me in person or via email (claire.oppedahl@eagles.cui.edu).”
She added, “I will guide you throughout the process of becoming a member of the DSP Rho Pi Chapter. I, along with the whole chapter, look forward to meeting you!”
