ASCUI encourages students to join Flight Club
The Concordia Courier

To add to the excitement of the school year with everyone back on campus, a new school spirit initiative was created. The spirit initiative, The Hunt, was created in hopes of energizing Concordia’s school spirit after a year with no spectators at sporting events. With this initiative really taking flight, it was only fitting to rename the student section. The “Screaming Eagles,” the name of the student section before this year, was in need of a rebrand that the students wanted and would own.
The Hunt Committee helped to collect input from the student body for a new name. After acquiring over 100 different ideas, excitement from the students began to swell. Some examples of the names included “The Bird Cage,” “The Perch,” and “The Nest.” These were carefully sifted through to a select few. After the names were combed through, The Hunt Committee decided to release a poll that was sent to the entire Concordia community and posted on social media platforms. The optionswere “Flight Club,” “Conc Cage,” and “The Flock.” After the voting period, the “Flight Club” was adopted as CUI’s new student section name. The name will be featured on the bucket hat that students can get when they turn in three full stamp cards!
