The Center for Career & Vocation has recognized Fatima Nava as Student of the Month for March! Nava, a senior, works as a student website developer with the Concordia Web Team. Fatima received a certificate and a gift in acknowledgment of her efforts and was featured on Instagram and in the Career Studio.

"Fatima has taken other student employees under her wing and gone out of her way to help train them, answer questions and be a go-to resource in the office,” said her supervisor,  George Allen, Associate Vice President of Marketing. “Whenever we have hired a new student on the web team, she has welcomed them and even adjusted her schedule as much as can to be in the office at the same time as them. She does this with patience, kindness and wisdom."

The Center for Career & Vocation evaluates the Student Employee of the Month using the NACE career competencies of Career & Self Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Belonging & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork and Technology.

Nava was recognized for Leadership, as she achieved organizational goals by capitalizing on personal and team strengths, and Teamwork, as she maintained a collaborative environment that appreciated the diverse viewpoints and shared responsibilities of a team.

The Center for Career & Vocation reviews nominations for Student Employee of the Month every third Tuesday, and all faculty and staff supervisors are welcome to nominate student workers. Look forward to the April Student Employee of the Month, who will be featured in May!
