Jai Viela: Hello, Concordia Friends!

My name is Jai Viela, a sophomore Communication major! I am from Maui, Hawaii. I have a deep appreciation for community, education and mentoring young leaders to serve their communities. My favorite memory from Concordia is meeting some of my best friends, who I could not imagine my life without.

I am excited to serve as the 2026-2027 ASCUI President. I hope to foster a sense of community at Concordia and continue collaborating with all of our on-campus groups. I also look forward to hosting service projects to improve our landscaping and campus areas. Along with my mentor, Amanda Norris, we have worked hard to create a dynamic ASCUI team that brings creative ideas, a passion for bringing people together, and love for this incredible campus community.

We hope that, through our work, we can bring visible change to our campus while mentoring the next generation of student leaders. My work would not be possible without you, so please stop by my office in the CSLD, email us or chat with me in the hallways to share your concerns and ideas for improving your well-being.

I am excited and ready for the work ahead. Blessings & love, always.

Tenley Sitze: Hi! My name is Tenley Sitze. I was born and raised in San Diego, California, and I will be a junior in the fall. My major is Liberal Studies, and I have the joy and privilege of being part of the Lutheran teaching program with the hopes of becoming a middle school teacher. A fun fact about me is that I have never had a dog, but I do have a desert tortoise named Lester.

I am excited about my upcoming position as Vice President because I truly love this school, and I look forward to building a team of senators who will help me brighten our campus and bring much-needed change to the community. I am thrilled to connect with the student body in a different way than I have before, by receiving feedback and providing support where our campus needs it. I am thankful for this opportunity to serve my community here at Concordia, to pour into the senate team, and to work with my fellow ASCUI members to be friendly faces and represent our student body well.

It is difficult to decide on a singular favorite moment during my time at Concordia thus far, but Beach Bash is always a fabulous time. Having lived in California all my life, I still find myself in awe of the Lord’s creation of the ocean. The beach is one of my favorite places in the world, and sitting around the band as they lead all of us in worship on the beach is a true glimpse of heaven. I am so excited to serve as ASCUI’s Vice President in the fall! I commit to serving our community faithfully and hope to promote further unity between all groups and people on campus. Thank you for your support as I prepare to take on this role in the new school year!
