Track & Field compete in PacWest Championship this weekend

After a spring season of breaking records, setting personal bests and hitting national provision marks, the Golden Eagles are soaring into the PacWest Championship weekend in Santa Barbara. Competing at 10 a.m. today and 8 a.m. tomorrow, our all-star athletes will be fighting to come out on top of conference and pushing points to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor National Championship in Kansas this May.

Track and field is back to breaking records and personal bests as they closed out their indoor season and launched outdoor season on the same day, March 8. A select group of athletes traveled to Pittsburg, Kansas for the NCAA Indoor National Championships while the rest of the team competed in Fullerton at the Ben Brown Invitational.

There is no better way to begin track and field season than by breaking records and setting personal bests. With two meets under their belt so far, track and field competed on Jan. 20 in New Mexico at the Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational. Last weekend, the athletes showed out at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis in Spokane, Washington.

CUI’s Track Team ready at the start

With the first half of the academic year coming to its end, CUI’s track team is gearing up to run circles around the competition. After coming off last year with some notable performances such as Paige Johnson's finishes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter hurdle dash, the 100-meter dash and long jump. Johnson finished ninth overall, earning her a second team all-American title.
