De Wilder started his Eagle career last season when he transferred from Eastern Illinois to join the tennis team at Concordia. As an athlete, De Wilder immediately took the role of a leader, helping bring together the team.

Eagles pull off miraculous eight run comeback in series win

The CUI baseball team pulled off a miraculous comeback in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the ninth to come back for the win. In game two, the Eagles were in a position for yet another walk-off win before the game was called due to light curfew, ending in a 4-4 tie. With the results of Saturday's games, Concordia remains undefeated with a 3-0-1 record on the season.

Starting with the Concordia University Irvine basketball doubleheader on Thursday, Jan. 27 against Chaminade, Concordia now allows up to 500 spectators to attend home games in CU Arena.

This updated policy affects home men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball and stunt games hosted at Concordia.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased ahead of time.

Homecoming will look a little differently with activities held both online and in-person on the weekend of January 28. The LEAD team, Athletics, and Alumni team coordinated for a weekend of festivities.

The Alumni Homecoming events have been moved to a virtual setting. The weekend consists of Friday and Saturday online events, including Virtual Bingo and an awards ceremony. CUI will also honor the 2022 Alumni of the Year.

The spirit initiative, The Hunt, was created in hopes of energizing Concordia’s school spirit after a year with no spectators at sporting events. With this initiative really taking flight, it was only fitting to rename the student section. The “Screaming Eagles,” the name of the student section before this year, was in need of a rebrand that the students wanted and would own.
