Concordia’s Music Department Honors American Film and Stage Music

On March 28 at 6:30 p.m., Concordia’s Symphony Orchestra, Donne di Canto and Men’s Chorus will be performing in the USA250: American Classics for Stage and Screen concert located at Faith Lutheran High School, Las Vegas. They will be joined by the Faith Lutheran High School Choir in a collaborative performance honoring the impact that music has throughout the 250 years of America. Tonight, they will perform at Orange Lutheran High School at 7:30 p.m., highlighting many of the same pieces in a closer setting to Concordia.

By taking a brief glance at the Music Department’s events for the spring 2026 semester, one will notice a lengthy series of concerts throughout the entire semester, attributed to our nation's history. This year, the Music Department has successfully launched a concert series entitled USA 250, which lifts up and informs the greater Orange County community of our nation's founding documents and its rich history.

On Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., Concordia’s Donne Di Canto and Men’s Chorus will have their annual Fall Choral Concert. This performance will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located in Orange. This year, the choir is under new leadership with the arrival of Director Dr. Dan Wessler. As the performance gets closer, the choir is busy preparing to grace Immanuel Lutheran with their songs.

Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m., the women’s chorus, Donne di Canto, and the men’s chorus will be performing together in the first major choral concert of the year at Concordia. The concert is directed by Dr. Clarissa Shan, with Gyojin Kim as the pianist.

After three years since the last appearance at Segerstrom Hall, Concordia’s choir and orchestra returned to the stage to perform. On Mon., Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. over a thousand audience members arrived to listen to “Repeat the Sounding Joy.”
